Why is it Good to do Good? an to ti tooooooo

I was explaining to my roommate Maria that i didn't know how to start my monthly email,
I 've been working on it for a long time, and it has been very difficult to talk about what is good when sometimes we can't even differenciate good from bad.

I was explainning to Maria that while some people are sure that the health care bill is good
other people say it is not good. The Terrorist Think it is good to bomb. Some others think it is good to bomb Terrorists.
***I mean these good people want to kill "those bad people" and
<those bad people think they are good people and
want to kill 'these bad people that also think themselves to be good>***

Maria told me -"Good Luck natta" this is a very difficult topic and i don't really have to much to say"
"buena suerte!"
:/

I like this photo because the policeman is trying to save a Chinese man that wants to commit suicide in the street of BUSH. What if this man did something very horrible? at least the police is going to give him the chance to live and repent... just wondering.

I think is not good to wish death upon ANYBODY no matter how bad the person has been.

I know that not everybody has the privilage and ability to rise wisdom and compassion in their mind.
Very evil people have not got the good fortune to overcome their own greed,
hatred, and selfish minds. We should feel lots of compassion for them.
I believe that good people are good people with everybody (including with bad people)
since goodness comes from within and it reflects the inner cultivation of each individual.

Let me give you the case of Iranian-american scholar Hale Esfandiari who was unfairly arrested
and spent four months in solitary confinement. When one of her guards noticed she was unable
to hold a knife to peel her fruit, because her arthitris was acting up, the guard peeled it and cut it
for her. A human gesture in an inhuman place!
I'm sure this guard is kind with all prissioners, including real evil criminals.

No matter how good people we are or we "think" we are, the path of goodness  (yes it's about
thinking and helping others and aliviate their suffering) involves that we are continuously correcting our selves
ALL THE TIME, it's about appologizing and forgiving ourselves and others ALL THE TIME.  Real life is about correcting and correcting
all our wrong point of view, catching our selfishness, bad thoughts, careless actions
and relax create a good moment when we may want to bark. Thus we can cultivate a natural Self control.

No matter how famous, how pretty, how talented, how successfull, how wonderful, how organic, how vegan, how activist, how GOOD we think we
are, the best is to rely on humbleness. Every minute every second we have to forgive tons of offenses, believe me, every second in fact every nanosecond the most horrible things are happening in the name of good.

I know that we all have different religious backgrounds. My mom is Christian, Samuel and Robert are Jewish, Lamine is Muslim...i am Buddhist,  but all of the religions believe in heaven and that life is a journey that take us step by step toward the goal of Heaven. To reach Heaven is beyond our Power. Our goal is to try to get there.
You may not like religious matters, that's ok, but let's all follow the core universal principles (not kill, not lie, not steal, not do to others what you don't want others to do to you, etc...) and live with the highest moral intelligence.

天國世界 This picture photographed by the Hubble telescope, at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, clearly show a vast white city floating eerily in the blackness of space. When I showed this to my mom, she said it is Jesus' heaven, I know that the Jewish are going to say it is the Jewish Heaven, the same thing with Muslims, I am Buddhist and we believe this is one of the levels of the western paradise. But... you know what? THIS IS EVERYBODY's  GOOD PERSONS HEAVEN (This is heaven for ALL GOOD humans).

I confess that one of my passions is to dive into the internet and look for articles about people, "ordinary people", that their only thought is to DO GOOD to others, I found this so attractive, so magnificent, so unique, so POWERFULISIMO.
Let me share with you a little list of: little do-gooders (I have to thank Mr. Greg Mortenson for this list)
Madame et Messieurs, señoras y señoras, ladies and gentlemans, with you: {{{DRUMS PAm ki taa doc doc TA TAAAAAAN}}}}

 * Zach Bonner. He was 6 years old when it all started, during Hurricane Charlie he took his little red wagon door to door in his neighborhood to collect clean water for the victims. After four months, he had collected 27 truck loads of supplies. "Zach likes doing charity work,” his mom says. He liked it so much that by the time hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit, Zach’s family needed to set up a foundation because of the amount of monetary donations he was taking in. They named it Little Red Wagon Foundation,
He is 11 years old and today he starts a walk of 14 miles a day for around 179 days! to raise money and awareness for the 1.3 million homeless kids in the United States!!。

FUND a FIELD is a non- profit organization founded by Garrett and Kyle Weiss when they were just 15 and 13, respectively. The organization works to provide soccer fields and equipment to the under-privileged children of Africa. The FUNDaFIELD team, which consists of 32 kids mainly from Danville, California, comes up with some amazing ideas to raise funds for their project and have already been successful in funding about five soccer fields across Africa.

*Ashley Shuyler founded  AFRICAID  when she was 16 years old. Ashley creates greater educational opportunities for girls in Tanzania. She has raised over $350,000 used for 130 1-year scholarships, set aside funds for 44 more, and has shipped $60,000 worth of supplies to Tanzania. Ashley is now 25.
A cool video of Ashley:

What i love about Ashley is that when she went to Afrika for vacations (11 years old) and saw the terrible situation, she went back to America and learned to speak Swahili and she studied hard to open her foundation.

mi cumple / my birday

This morning i read a WONDERFUL blog that made my day, between all the phone calls, texts and emails i had to answer, between el MEGA chocolate cake i baked (oh my gosh) between piking up 50 tamales!!! between wearing my Tibetan dress with my hippie elegant blouse... between etc...  I found this article that really is exceptional.

These are the quotes i like the most:
“Show me a man who isn’t a slave; one who is a slave to sex, another to money, another to ambition; all are slaves to hope or fear. I could show you a man who has been a Consul who is a slave to his ‘little old woman’, a millionaire who is the slave of a little girl in domestic service. And there is no state of slavery more disgraceful than one which is self-imposed.”
           Seneca

“So other people hurt me? That’s their problem. Their character and actions are not mine. What is done to me is ordained by nature and what I do by my own.”
          Marcus Aurelius
“There is nothing the busy man is less busied with than living; there is nothing harder to learn.”
Seneca
I found this text so important and so meaningful in my life today, right now, ahorita mismo...

I believe that self control is the base of freedom.
That's why i've been with out boy friend or lover or whatever for so many many years, believe me solitude is HARD,  you are alone with your voices, facing <<naked>>  all kind of fears, and there is nobody making noise or distracting you from this fact.
I do believe that... if this "person" who is destined to be your partner do not show up, better to be alone. It takes time to purify this believe when it's so easy to believe it when we are kids.
I do believe that is good to RESIST  addictions, this is really freedom.
I do believe that we come to this earth, and inhabit a human body car so we can learn and learn and learn and learn and keep learning about Libertad.

At the temple's discourse....
again  we have a great reminder about the power of cultivating a PURE HEART, an honest pure heart.
It's power is HUGE, IMMENSE!!!

I can keep writing and writing the many many many things i learned today about self cultivation that confirm my believes.

I love that my friends from all around made their best to call me or contact me today, but what i love the most is that they accept me how i am and even if they don't believe what i do, they keep loving me... And believe me all what i believe is hard to believe and more hard to put into practice.

Feliz cumple / happy birday natta.

psss
I was driving toward S.F. When crossing the bridge (i love the bay bridge, i love any bridge), with my cake, los tamales and a big frijoles pot, dress like a princess,  i found out i was out of gas,
i started chanting Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum
and i flew over the sky, over the traffic, over the unbearable slavery of being,
I arrived perfectly fine.
and guess what...?
a wonderful parking spot waiting for me just in front of the Temple's door.
