Batman, Don Juan, Bears and make the jump.

Batman was desperate, injured and captured in an underground prison.
The only way to get out of this hole was by climbing the walls, by securing
himself with a rope, and trying to make an impossible jump to freedom.
He already failed this jump twice.

An old man next to his cell told him (while Batman was doing push ups):
-“The lead to freedom is not about strength. You do not fear death,
you think this makes you strong, but it makes you weak”

Batman answered: -” I’m not afraid, I’m angry”

The old man continued: “How can you –be- faster than possible, fight longer
than possible without the most powerful impulse of the spirit? The fear of death.
Do the climb without the rope and fear will find you again.”
Did Batman jump with or without the rope.? Here

Don Juan Matus was trying to teach Carlos, his apprentice, about power and
the warrior's way, the difference between believing and having to believe.
“A warrior doesn't believe, a warrior has to believe." Don Juan explained,
-“Power is showing you that death is the indispensable ingredient in
having to believe. Without the awareness of death everything is ordinary, trivial.
It is only because death is stalking us that the world is an unfathomable mystery.”

Don Juan taught that we luminous beings should live just as if death is few steps behind,
walking by our left side.  To be able to sustain this way is impeccability,
and that you have done everything possible to be worthy of knowledge and power".

For this year 2013 I wish you a herd of angry bears behind you and may
this running for your life make you jump indescribably mighty high.
:)

I thought a lot about writing about the “death topic” that has been in my
mind lately. So funny that we make plans and schedule our life as immortals
when we are surrounded by volatile impermanence.

I’m not saying to get stressed (or paranoia) or quit your job and duties.
Yes!  Have fun, but may the presence of the mystery make you wonder
and question existence and find new edges.
Yes! work hard but don’t let the world that your reason wants to sustain
be a world created by inviolable worldly concepts.

Now forgive deeply and instantly and irreversibly and now. Make sure to
send that book to your Dad as soon as now. Make the jump without the
attachment of the rope of fame, rope of gain, rope of anger, rope of
 hatred… seizing.

I’m sorry if you find me a little weird this year but… I have an angry
bear running behind my mortal derriere. Good luck with your bears and happy 2013.

I want to dedicate this post to my Dad, Rodolfo (1930-2012).
